Re: Wanted
Good evening, Daimler or Jag grill? My understanding is that these grills are made from brass - my series 2 Daimler grill is made from brass and can be re-chromed, the main issue would be to find someone in your area that can carry out the chrome work. There is a company that has an advert in the JE...

Re: Scams by purchaser of parts etc
Surely you would pay the cheque in before the parts are collected, and before the parts are released the cheque must clear funds in your account.
If the cheque "bounces" - no parts are released.
Would that not be the obvious way to conduct business?

Re: Heated Door Mirror Glass
Hi Mike, I have all the electrical items in place with various new looms/switches etc. I have the additional wires for the heating element of the glass to connect. Its the heated glass itself that is (so far) eluding a supply chain. I can purchase "stick on" replacement glass (all the wrong size/col...

Heated Door Mirror Glass
Good afternoon, I'm in the throws of an XJC restoration and have the idea to install heated door mirrors. My understanding is that the bodies, motors, glass are the same as the series III XJ and so should fit the series II bodies. I do seem to be having little luck in finding replacement door mirror...

Re: 1974 series 2 4.2 difficult to start after 60 mile run
Hi Paul, I know of a really great mechanic in Peterborough that deals with all of my cars/vehicles. The local Mercedes/BMW/Toyota/Renault garages all take their "problem" cars to him when they cant fix them. He is what I call "old school" and can usually fix issues diagnosed over the telephone - I t...

Looking for an XJ40 Daimler (if thats the correct phrase)
Good afternoon folks, I may find myself in the arena for an XJ40 Daimler, I'm not sure if this is the correct item but I'll describe what I would like. Its the one with the rectangular headlamps, not round ones and must be in Daimler spec. I'm open to whys and why nots with the engine size, options ...

Re: air-conditioning retro fit -series II
I have been looking into this at great length with my XJC restoration. It has been recommended to me that the system from a series 3 will work, however, there is a great deal of work involved in the entire process. The blowers, wiring, heater box, various switches, pipework need to be removed (and l...

XJ Series 2 Petrol Cap Locks
WANTED!!! I require locks and keys - NEW or NOS - for the petrol cap that fit the XJ series of cars. I have tried my local lock smiths with no such luck - I have searched the usual internet places & recommended suppliers for over 10 months but cannot find them anywhere. So, would anyone know of a su...

XJC Chrome Door Trim - P/N BD47661
Good morning each, Having been let down by SC Parts who let me order the part, and pay for it, and with almost 4 months for it, they have decided to let me know that its no longer available. So, would any person have available for sale the drivers door chrome trim with the lock cut out for an XJC - ...

Re: tyres wanted
Hi Keri, This size of tyre for the Jag/Daimler cars is now a very expensive option. There is a company that will sell you the original Pirelli tyre, but at £209+ each is an expensive option from www.longstonetyres.co.uk These are "V" rated tyres and were the correct tyre for the E Type and XJ Series...

Re: Series 2 ride height - sitting high at the back
Good morning peeps, Just to throw my oar into this situation. Some of you may know that I'm in the throws of restoring a 4.2 XJC. I have had the ride height issue in my mind since well before I even purchased my car. When I look at some XJ's (either saloon or coupe) they sometimes look to high, both...
