Re: Tenax fastener
Thanks for the link, but being black it's not original and I prefer to keep it that way. Weight for weight it might be cheaper to get them gold plated than buy from Jaguar!

Re: Tenax fastener
Thanks for the suggestions. I have tried both those sites and others, but cannot see any with the D ring. I'll scan the club mag and see what's there. I could drill and fit the D ring if I can find the correct female part, there are a lot of them with varying dimensions.

Tenax fastener
Good morning Does anyone know where to get a replacement Tenax female clip from? One of mine has broken and it's on the tonneau cover of my 1997 XK8 convertible. I've found plenty from boat suppliers but the dimensions vary so much and I've not found one with a D ring on. If I could find a plain one...

Re: Starting problems
Thank you for your reply and suggestions. I did think it might be due to vaporisation and I'll check the fuel lines. I don't have the equipment to check pressures etc. Vacuum lock is interesting and I'll check that next time out, although I won't be using the car for the foreseeable future due to th...

Re: Starting problems
I've searched the forum for a thread covering starting problems and this is the only one that details exactly the fault my car has. I also note that the OP had no replies since posting in 2008. My car is a 1997 XK8 Convertible 4.0 with only 31K on the clock. It has exactly the same problem as descri...

Re: DIY exhaust removal
Many thanks FrankC and Mike for the valuable input. It's not an urgent job, so I'll have another word with my local exhaust specialist who are Power Flo Exhausts. The centre box was one of their options, so it might be the way to go.

Re: DIY exhaust removal
Yes I agree, safety and access is paramount. I've been to my local custom performance exhaust company and they've offered me three solutions. Unfortunately they don't have any means of demonstrating the exhaust note and volume, so it would be hit and miss and a very expensive gamble. I'll have look ...

Re: DIY exhaust removal
Thanks Mike, that's what I thought. I've had an offer of a replacement from the CAT back but as yet have no details as to what it is or how many section etc. Original is in perfect order but clamps could be a problem as you say. I just want a bit more V8 sound.

DIY exhaust removal
I've been looking through the Exhaust threads and there is a lot of info on replacement exhaust systems, but I can't seem to find any detail of DIY removal and re-fitting. Does anyone have experience of doing this and what ground clearance is required. I don't have access to a lift and I unfortunate...

Re: Leather Colours?
Just tagging onto this thread regarding leather colour. My interior is NED Ivory and I'm looking at getting a touch up pen/kit for minor marks etc. I would like to hear from anyone who has done this as it is a common thing on older cars. What product did you use? Was it a good match or did you mix i...

Re: OBDII Code Reader for 1996 XK8
Hi. Just tagging onto this thread. I've just had an email from Aldi and they now have an OBD11 code reader for £16.99. They say it's for 1996 models onwards. Has anyone tried these?

Re: New arrival just saying hello
I know Spring is some time away on the calendar, but time seems to go quicker than that! Any chance of hinting as to what it is, or the very least say which dates are involved. I book flights well in advance and would hate to think I missed the chance of an XK8 event.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: 2001 XKR Lacking Power
Great set of photos David, thanks for keeping us informed. I can't remember what the fuel filter looks like, but regular inspection of that might indicate what's going on the tank regarding water damage. I'm in Spain at the moment having just endured the worst storms in Spanish history (plenty of wa...
