seconded..the issue is most likely 1st motion bearing going bad.. seems to be a common issue with these boxes..

typical symptom that happens if fluid is low.. it may have been too steep for the gearbox oil pump to suck up the fluid and gain sufficient pressure.. since its 'fixed itself'' I'd not worry unduly.. but it may be wise to do a light gearbox service..drain fluid.. remove the pan.. remove and clean th...

Im assuming its the ratio you wish to change ( and possibly add a limited slip feature) ..not straightforward.. it requires special tools ..mostly pullers but also tool to stretch the diff casing in order to remove the centre section.. yo need to find diff expert who is familiar with the salisbury 4...

The daimler front seats are almost identical to the standard ones as used in Mk1 jaguar.. almost all the daimler front seats have a reclining mechanism.. Regarding castor and camber... castor ( inclination of the king pin or suspension upright) is what helps centre the steering, and more castor adds 'feel' ( which is lacking in the Mk2 and its derivatives.. probably to keep the steering as 'light' as could be achieved back in the day with those crap ...
