Re: Automatic gearbox problems
Hi Jon and Richard Thanks for both of your replies and I apologise for not getting back to you sooner.I watched this thread for a couple of weeks or so and as there weren't any responses I'd kind of given up on it and this is the first I've logged in since then. To cut a long story short,I bit the b...

Automatic gearbox problems
Hi all I'm throwing this one out there in the hope that any members might be able to help and advise me. I have a mark 2 3.4 auto 1965. On the last two three outings the car has struggled to get into 3rd gear although once there it seems to settle there quite happily. I checked the transmission flui...

Re: Cam. cover gasket replacement.
Hi Brian and Old timer Thanks very much for your quick replies. You're right Brian, I wasn't that clear. What I meant was, whilst tightening the domed nut,I sheared off the top of the stud(about 10mm long)so when I take the cam cover off i will have to remove the remainder of the broken stud which h...

Cam. cover gasket replacement.
Hi all I wonder if anyone could give me some idiot proof advice to guide me through what I thought would be a fairly simple job. After locating an oil leak coming from the back of the left hand cam cover gasket, I was advised to first check the torque of the cam cover nuts. I set the wrench to the 1...

Re: local Mark 2 mechanics (Norwich)
Hi Reg Thanks for your reply and suggestions. I will contact the Norfolk rep of the JEC and see if he has any ideas. I guess in my naive way I still expect there to be some wizened old eighty year old who just happened to serve an apprenticeship at the jaguar factory in the sixties...who just happen...

local Mark 2 mechanics (Norwich)
Hi all
I'm looking for anyone in the Norwich area who works on mark 2s' to give my car a bit of a health check. There are a few issues that are beyond me and the usual resident mate.
Any suggestions most gratefully received.
Jamie

Re: Door and window winder springs
Hi Stuart
Thanks very much for that info. I've ordered them and hopefully they're winging their way to me as I write. Perhaps I should have researched it a bit more comprehensively, but sometimes it's a lot easier to go straight to someone who knows.
Much appreciated James

Door and window winder springs
Hi First of all I would like to apologize to Terrybeck for not thanking him for some advice he gave me about two years ago regarding the interior of my Mk 2. This is only my second question on the site since then so I've only just picked up how rude it was of me! The second question is:- Does anyone...

Hi Terry Thanks very much for all the information you gave me,it will be extremely helpful. I don't know yet whether I'll tackle the carpet myself or get it professionally installed. Luckily all the panels seem to be there and in good condition and the only one I'll have to make up is the parcel she...
