The JTIS is "official" Jaguar but I don't think that Jaguar have ever officially sold it to the public. Like many things, it may just have "leaked" inot the public domain. I bought the paper based manual set from the dealer for my X300 XJ12 when I first got that and when I purchased my '98 XJR I ask...

Re: Fog Light Bulb replacement
How do you replace bulb in Fog lamp The JTIS says: Remove undertray for access. Disconnect fog lamp harness multiplug. Rotate bulb holder 1/4 turn counter-clockwise to release and remove from lamp assembly. If bulb is to be re-fitted, the glass must not be touched with the bare hand. Failure to obse...

Halfords sell a circuit tester for 3.29GBP! I don't know if you are a member but, if not, I can highly recommend joining the X300 forum at http://forums.jag-lovers.org/. There are hundreds of members some of whom are Jaguar mechanics, auto electricians etc so you are likely to get more timely, exper...

Re: Heated rear screen not working?
... I have located and checked the fuse and it looks fine. I await a misty or frosty day when I can check this out properly but, if it does nothing, what should I check next? I had my heated front screen replaced recently - am I right to assume the rear scren circuit is completely separate so nothi...

The abs light is supposed to stay on after the ignition is started and will go off at about 10 mph. .... I would get you car looked at if it is doing that. It isn't normal. From the handbook: A bulb check cycle is initiated when the ignition is switched on and lasts for 3 to 4 seconds. If any warnin...

Looks like a tech job for the local specialist with diagnostic equipment or if you are near Nottingham give Dave Marks a call ..........Joe Hi Joe Thanks for getting in touch with Dave. As he said, the code isn't a generic OBD code and it was actually picked up using Jaguar's IDS scanner. Because o...

Thanks Joe but was this meant for a different thread? There was no mention of bare wires before. My basic issue is that the car thinks that there is a problem with the 'Front vertical accelerometer circuit'. It could genuinely be that module or it could be a fault elsewhere. It seems to be very unco...

Hi Richard, Just wondered if you got a solution to your problem as I have the exact same problem with my 98 XJR. Michael.... Hi Michael I had the codes read the other day and the mechanic found C1455 which is 'Front vertical accelerometer circuit fault'. It happens so infrequently I haven't got roun...

Re: Engine stalling
Unfortunately I cannot find any resistance vs temperature tables for the sensor used in the XJ8 which would allow you to use a multimeter to fault find. Without a resistance table, you need a fault code reader that can display live data to see what the engine thinks the temperature is when it is co...
