Here’s a very useful video on removing the headlamp.

If your cover is broken then it’s probably going to be a second hand or aftermarket option as Jaguar don’t seem to have any new ones.

Re: Fading of convertible hood
I have a blue hood on my XK8, I used the Autoglym kit and I was very pleased with the result, it came up several shades darker and the kit contained everything needed. Both X100 and X150's have mohair hoods so I'd be careful in terms of product selection if you are going to dye the hood. Some cheape...

One other possibility - there is a fan that runs on the audio amplifier. I'm guessing it runs until a temperature sensor tells it to turn off. When I first got the car I found it a little concerning and took it back to the dealer as it did appear to be a little noisy.

Re: Hi, I'm a new joiner to the club with my XK8
Yes the X150 has a much stiffer body, also ride dynamics are more tuned to handling than X100. MPG sounds about right but I live in hilly area. Good luck in getting a teenager in!! The rear seats are more a case of beautifully trimmed luggage storage. May be the actual Bluetooth unit is failing as a...

Re: In-dash CD Stacker not playing disks in my new XK(2006)
To add to Steve's comment I have virtually abandoned using the CD stacker. My car fortunately has the iPod connector which on early cars was an optional extra. To this connector I have added a bluetooth dongle and now have the entire library from my phone available for play as well as podcasts and s...

Well that didn't take you long!!!
I notice you have moved from X100 to X150 in the intervening period - how are you finding the experience?
Congratulations and wishing you many miles of great motoring.

Re: Security sensors
Hello Bert, A good suggestion from Mike, if that doesn't work a series of posts on Pistonheads https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=85&t=1226925 suggest the sensors can fail - of which there are two. Hopefully then a Jaguar friendly code reader should then be able to tell you which se...

Re: Hi, I'm a new joiner to the club with my XK8
Hello Peter, Congratulations on your entry into XK8 ownership and welcome to the club. Your car looks like it's only just been run in!! Some great suggestions from my fellow forum friends here. This may be a step too far but I wonder if there is a possibility to create a ski flap. This would require...

Re: Drive in an XK8 (X150) 4.2 convertible
Additional thoughts would be to identify cars for sale based on a distance you are prepared to travel - most trade sellers will let you have a test drive. You'd likely need to take into account the condition of the vehicle to assess how true a representation of the car the example is. I have an XK8 ...

Re: Reclining seat lever XK 2008
Also worth putting an alert on eBay, nothing listed as available right now but I've found in the past it's useful to do as items can and do turn up with good rated sellers. Also have you dropped Jaguar Classic Parts an enquiry? Whilst they list things as not available sometimes they have plans to ad...

Re: Gearbox service
The nearest I know of is Club partner Swallows - I realise it's a trip across the bridge and likely 60 miles each way. I would definitely recommend to get it done by someone who knows what they are doing. In last year's XK8 Seminar, David Marks said in his garage they leave the fluid to stand over n...

Re: XKR closing bonnet
Well you live and learn! Jim Mann - thanks for this insight. I'd wrongly assumed the same drop method for my XK as I was shown for my XK8 by a Jaguar technician. I'd agree with JimboV8's comments about lubrication - my XK latches do seem to like more regular lubrication but that could be a factor of...

Re: XK8 registration in France.
Great answer from Astromorg as always. The fact the VIN is missing in two usual places does seem very unusual and for me starts to ring some alarm bells. Asides from the possibility someone has tried to remove the car’s identity at some point in its life is it possible that it was in an accident- wi...
