Re: changing to alternator in my Mk2 3.4
UPDATE I have now decided on remaining positive earth with the Mk2 rebuild. Reasons being , I have already bought new wiring looms to suit the car in it's original positive earth. I had been unaware changes were required to the loom if one went to Negative earth. It will be more in keeping with my d...

Re: electronic ignition choice dilemma
Hi Paul, thanks for your response. I have gone ahead and order an ACCU SPARK (Stealth) electronic dizzy with screw type posts, along with required length of carbon cored HT lead. Re: changing to alternator in my Mk2 3.4
Many thanks Alec. You have mentioned some good points . Unfortunately I purchased new looms some time ago and looks like I will now have to order one to suit alternator conversion.

Hi fellow members, I am currently restoring my 1964 3.4 Mk2 and wish to include some upgrades such as an alternator and electronic distributor. Re: Section of Bulkhead / Firewall required.
Hi Mike, thanks for your response and the links.
I have checked all the parts suppliers and no one has the bit i need.
I believe the only chance is to find someone who has a rotten or severely damaged body tub.
I will hold back on trying a patch repair as i want to have it right.
Regards
