Re: Paint source?
Simon,
Take the paint code and preferably the fuel cap hinged cover into a branch of Morrelli or any pro paint shop supplier and they should be able to mix it for you.

Re: Exhaust Manifolds
Alec, When E-Type fabs were producing the 6 branch manifold and exhaust both in st. st. I bought one of each for my car. No excessive noise or heat from either the exhaust or the manifold. Most people who know the E-Type will say that the cast manifold is very hard to improve on except for looks. Th...

Re: List of articles.
I sent in a few technical articles to the mag and none have ever been printed. I did a good one on the Volvo front brake set up which is on a few websites around the world but never printed in the JEC mag.

So what happened to old forum?
One night I went to log into the old forum or BB and it had disappeared, was this mentioned anywhere? if it was I never saw it.
I am sure there wasn't a post on the old board saying the JEC was moving to a new style maybe it was in the mag? since I never read it I must have missed it.

Eugene, Unfortunately your car is not rare at all 2+2's are totally different to other E-Types and the flat floor as you call it is correct. I think the S3's also have a flat floor. The flat floor was discontinued early 1962. Mine is a November 1961 build and has the flat floor and straight rear bul...

John, My exhaust was made by E-type fabs they have since stopped making the exhausts and this is now done by classic fabs. At the rear of the exhaust box ETF tacked in a venturi in each outlet to speed up the flow of gas exiting from the exhaust. This also has the effect of making the exhaust quiete...

There should be a front exhaust heat shield fitted above the gearbox and is triangular in shape this stops heat and a certain amount of noise coming into the car via the tunnel. The second heat shield is rectangular and is fitted directly to the floor via pop rivets or self tappers. It is situated u...

John, You don't say whether your car is a fixed or open top? I have a big bore sports exhaust with an open top car that does the same when I have the roof up. Have fitted sound deadening inside the car? the tunnel is a good area to start. Have you got the exhaust front and rear heat shields fitted? ...

Mark, I know the screws you mean and took one out of mine to check the thread and I still don't know what it is. I tried a 3/16" UNF die on it and it seemed to go tight after a couple of threads. The inside screws are countersunk and I have some in st.st if you want them for further investigation an...

Hi Dave, I don't much about the S2 or the fuel configuration but if your car has a plate like the series one where the pump suction pipe goes into the tank then renewing the cork gasket might help, it did on mine. Also the fuel sender unit gasket. My car is a very early S1 with the submerged fuel pu...

Eugene, On top of what Pat mentioned you will either have to replace the wiring harness or extend the one you have. The wipers arms can be heated and cranked the opposite way then polished. The steering column can be simply turned through 180 and the so the indicator stalk is on the correct side. Ac...
