Re: Ant Anstead "Born Mechanic" on TV
Agree, he should have sold it privately plus he converted it to a manual - the parts alone for this are £2k+. It amazes me how most punters don't want a manual - they are rare and for me bring the car alive when you drive it.

Hi Tel. Could you share a list of what you have - happy to relieve you of some if they are what I need for my facelift.

Re: Facelift XJS door seal parts BEC22268 & BEC22269
I have same issue and purchased a 2nd hand set which are a little better but not much. You are correct some parts are becoming rare - rear lights is another example - if you can get them second hand they are a fortune! Re the doors, I purchased a second hand set for spares to find the window cheater...

Re: 1995 door handle mechanism
i had to pull mine out and clean them up as locks had become difficult to operate and one of the lock solenoids had given up the ghost. I think is one of the most fiddly jobs you may possibly encounter on the XJS, so will take lots of patience and there will be some choices words said I am sure!

Re: Undertray and spoiler
I cannot see which model you have - mine is a 95 facelift and I lost my under tray on A11. I made up a replacement out of aluminium - in my case it looks to add considerable strength to the spoiler/bumper. Without it, the large plastic bumper ia flimsy and I suspect would be easily damaged if you hi...

I used this guy who runs a company that specialises in welding cast iron amongst other things: Peter Palmer <pp@ciws.co.uk>

Peter is a great guy, really knowledgeable and he will happily give you a tour of his factory!

Re: Chris Harris on Cars - I bought an XJ-S
Have great respect for Chris Harris but agree he probably overpaid for this car. However, I too think is good news as £9K for him will be small change. All in is not a bad car, so yes, let's hope more of the wealthy start buying XJSs as the values can go one way and bring the price up!

Jaguar Land Rover Parts website
I may be going mad but has the site changed? https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/
Used to select Jaguar and then XJS and then could select either pre facelift and facelift. Now option is 'Older Vehicle Information' but I cannot see the facelift model there.

Re: Growler Fog Light Covers - 3D Printing?
I have a pair of what I think may be original growler covers. The fog lights are corroded so was looking at how to refurbish them - was thinking of using fibreglass and then painting them all black . Time has passed and I now think I will fit modern LED lights to the recesses in the front spoiler fo...
