Thanks Steve, they're pretty local to me so I'll give them a try.

Corroding sills
Hi, I have been advised by my local Jaguar garage that the sills on my 2005 X-Type saloon are starting to corrode and I should get them treated & waxoyled. Can anyone advise a good garage who might do this in the Norwich area?

Re: XJ12 SIII Despair
I suspect the mechanic was the one who blew my original ECU by using a booster charger with the battery still connected to the engine! I had the old one tested and they said it had been burnt out by a power surge of some kind - hence my suspicion. I'm pretty sure the starter relay and ignition switc...

XJ12 SIII Despair
Help! I need cheering up. The non-starter still refuses to budge. Fortunes have been spent, my family think I'm mad, the bl**y thing turns over beautifully, catches but just will not keep running. I've tried: new battery, new ht leads, new ignition coil, new spark plugs, fresh petrol, new distributo...

The saga continues...
Hi I just thought I'd post the latest on my XJ12 woes! The poor old thing has now sat at the back of the drive for 2.5 years, with only a cover to keep the weather out. The engine is all back together with new water pump etc. but she is still refusing to start, despite a replacement (2nd hand) ECU. ...

Hi, I suspect it's the old sharp intake of breath 'gonna cost you guv' trick that garages love to pull! When I had a 1999 S-Type with only about 60000 miles on the clock, the main dealer insisted on changing all four brake discs and pads for 'safety reasons'. I objected when I inspected them myself ...

Ian Good to hear you're all sorted. My sagas continue with trying to get the '79 seriesIII started! It's now turning over and coughing occasionally but steadfastly refuses to fire properly, luckily I've found a local mechanic to take it on so I'm crossing my fingers that I might have her on the road...

XJ12C
Kevin Good luck with the XJ12C, sounds like a good buy. Surely rust won't be a problem out in sunny California? I've got a '79 series III XJ12 LWB saloon which is giving me all sorts of headaches getting it going again after 2.5 years off the road - but I still love it! My wife's not so keen having ...

Welcome back
Hi Staurt
Welcome back to the JEC and good luck finding your next Jag. I know what you mean about the drains on the wallet, little people cost even more to run than old Jags!
Regards, David
