Re: New X351 owner
Thanks Mike. Swallows put Lanoguard on the underside when I bought it so I plan to keep that topped up annually. Should keep the worst at bay.

New X351 owner
Hi - just in introduce myself as the very happy new owner of a 2012 5.0 N/A. It’s a Japanese import so has a few quirky features e.g. Sat nav is in Japanese and despite getting a UK DVD for it, it still won’t work. The benefit of the import is that on most Japanese islands they don’t salt the roads ...

Re: Rusty wheel arch / quarter panels
It’s taken a while, what with being made redundant, covid shutdowns, new job, other life stuff lol nearly 5 years but not far now. I bet you can't wait to drive it again. I think the XJC is the nicest looking Jaguar ever made. As rare as rocking horse stuff! It would be nice to drive it again. Near...

Re: Rusty wheel arch / quarter panels
Njrestorations ltd. South Wales based but they do pick up the car for you. Obviously at cost. I have my xjc there and they are doing a thorough job. I think they have just started a xkr with similar issues Thanks for the recommendation. South Wales is not too far - I’m only about 20 miles from the ...

Re: Rusty wheel arch / quarter panels
Thanks Jim - will do.Hi Gavin, no problem, you might also want to review the article in the September 2018 Modern XK column as that also covered some aspects of tin worm attack.

Re: Rusty wheel arch / quarter panels
Hi Gavin, try the February 2022 magazine for one of the repair articles relating to the XK8 X-100 model. It is online but if you have problems accessing it, if you PM me your email address I can email you a copy of the article. Jim Mann Hi Jim. That’s the article I was trying to locate. Thanks ever...

Rusty wheel arch / quarter panels
Hi everyone. I while back there was a great feature in the club magazine that showed someone having the wheel arches and quarter panels of their XK8 cut out and replaced. For the life of me I can’t locate the article in the online magazines and I don’t keep back copies (don’t ask!). Does anyone reme...

Re: Electrical fault dashboard warning
Hi Steve, Andy's advice is well worth following. You can save a fortune. If you want a deeper dive into other modules on the car then you need to spend a bit more money but even then it is small beer compared to what it can save you in garage bills. I have a Foxwell NT414 Pro (obsolete now I think) ...

Re: Electrical fault dashboard warning
Thanks both. I shall keep an eye on it. We drove just under 300 miles today and no sign of the warning. Fingers crossed that’s the last I’ll see of it. Good advice to keep the scanner in the car.

Electrical fault dashboard warning
Can anyone offer some advice? I was driving earlier and the dashboard flashed up the “electrical fault” warning with the amber telltale light. It went off immediately and there didn’t seem to be anything wrong. Should I just put it down to one of the foibles of the XK8 or does is really mean somethi...

Re: Servicing garage recommendations
Swallows are not too far from you (about 40 miles I'd guess) and they usually offer a loan car while your is in. Very good and honest service.

Re: Difficulty Starting XK8
Brilliant! It's always good to hear about a happy ending to an initial tale of woe. :) Mike. I'm late to the party but I thought I'd add that I recommend we all use Esso super unleaded. Except for a few areas (see link here: https://www.esso.co.uk/en-gb/fuels/petrol) it is ethanol free. By law they...
