Fuel pump blowing not sucking??
Hi Guys, I hope you arre all keeping safe (in the garage??!) during these strange times..... My V12 Roadster has been laid up for 18 months while I had the cooling system in bits... Thanks to some enforced home time, it's all back together, but the (points system) fuel pump, although merrily ticking...

Re: Mutilated Thermostat Housing Screws
Yep, have Thermostats with jiggle pins...they came from a Jag specialist spares place, so I would hope they are up to spec! All done in line with your advice, and the article which I referred back to... She's running cooler now, but need to take her out for a proper run to be sure my issue is sorted...

Re: V12 overheating - ignition timing?
Hi Alec,
Thanks for coming back to me.
I thought that could likely be the case...am hoping my flush, thermostat and coolant change, will do the trick first, but if not, will def reconsider the timing...

Re: Mutilated Thermostat Housing Screws
Hi David, Took your advice, threw caution to the wind, and drilled the little buggers out! All done now, very second hand looking thermostats replaced with new, new gaskets, and 6 bright shiny new screws... Just need to finish flushing it out, and replacde the coolant, and I'm hoping it's there... T...

Re: Mutilated Thermostat Housing Screws
Hi David, Thanks for replying to my plea. I've already tried my impact driver. It did remove one screw, but even having applied heat, it sheared the next one, on the same side, and I am loathe to shear the last one on that side... God knows how long they've been in there...and given the state they w...

Mutilated Thermostat Housing Screws
Guys, Went to have a crack at changing the two Thermostats in my V12, and was faced with 6 obviously VERY tight screws, that someone previously had tried to remove, and had instead pretty much stripped them.... :x Tried to post a pic, but can't seem to do it... Does anyone have any ideas? If I drill...

Re: V12 overheating - ignition timing?
That's brilliant, thanks Richard, you've just answered my next question before I asked it!
Hope it works, as there's less than 3 weeks before I'm due on Copse Banking for the Silverstone Classic...

Re: V12 overheating - ignition timing?
HI Paul, Thanks for your kind reply. Yes, you are right. I have now checked in the distributor, and the centrifugal advance seems fine, not so sure about the vacuum retard, but I don't think that should cause an overheating issue. Hoses look fine, I changed over to Kevlar jobs a few years ago.. Have...

V12 overheating - ignition timing?
Hi Guys, I hope you may be able to help. Was out for the first time of the summer yesterday (an unwise hot day), and had two near overheat situations... She would idle fine, temp guage reading R of NORMAL, but on the move, the guage just went up and up, and I'm sure if I hadn't stopped, she would ha...
