Replacing front wishbone rubber bushes
My lower wishbone rubbers look quite old and the rubber has cracks in. I am considering replacing them. I've read the workshop manual about the replacement procedure, which describes removing the torsion bars and refitting them using the height setting bar. I'm wondering how difficult the bush repla...

Re: Exhaust Manifolds
If I am allowed to mention another website, look for threads on the E-type forum, e.g.
http://etypeuk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=287
where exhaust options are discussed extensively.

Words of wisdom: Leave the standard manifold on, get your car back on the road, and stop dithering about !

Just an update on this topic. I went to the March CMC day arranged by the E-type Club. CMC advised the use of door seals by SC parts as they were the softest. I asked about rear window seals, and the advice was 'keep the old ones', there being no replacement ones that match the original design. The ...

For 5,000rpm at 70 mph you must have a diff of about 5:1 (assuming standard 185x15 tyres). The standard US diff for an Auto box was 3.31:1 which would give about 110mph at 5000rpm. Alternative ratios could be requested but I don't think any went up to 5:1. Do you think the speedo and tacho are readi...

I think the usual advice about checking the bodywork very carefully is difficult to fault. Presumably you have read the buying advice on this forum and others ? Buy a copy of The essential buyers guide by Peter Crespin, which will give you a list of areas to check for and score. The scoring can be a...

FHC quarerlight to body seals
I have just replaced one of my quarterlight window seals on my 1965 FHC after a bit of a struggle. The seal fits into a dovetail channel around the window aperture, but the replacement seal (from Barretts) was a tight fit into the dovetail. I initially planned to push the seal all the way round the ...
