Mystery threaded hole in MK2 rear door lock remote control
I am reinstalling the remote control locking mechanisms in my 64 MK2 doors. On the rear remote control, I noticed that there is a threaded hole. I have no idea what the purpose of this might be. I don't have my old door cards handy. Is there a screw that goes through the door card into the remote co...

Re: Ignition, Timing and electronic Distributors
All, This thread seemed to end rather abruptly in March, 2014. I have a 1964 MK2 3.8 MOD 8:1 compression. I am installing a 123 ignition JAG 6-R-V unit. I have read as much as I can find about the subject of maximum advance and I found this thread and its predecessor to be very helpful - especially ...

Re: Leaking Heater Valve - Suggestions?
Got the proper "O" ring from Terry's Jaguar. Fit like a charm and no more leaking. I can't explain why the one I had was undersized but I am pleased that I now have the proper one in place! Thank you to respondents.

Leaking Heater Valve - Suggestions?
Put coolant in my car today. Fortunately no leaks so far with the exception of my new heater valve. I understand that the original seal may not be available any longer. I used a single "O" ring which I thought would do the job but it obviously has not. I did not use any type of sealant between the m...

Re: MK2 3.8 MOD LHD Exhaust Installation
Just to get back to the Forum with an update, I finished the trial installation of the exhaust system. This is essentially a test install as I am assembling all of the major systems on the car and then disassembling for bodywork and paint. This is a link to the page on my website addressing the exha...

MK2 brake pipe flares
Simple question and I hope a simple answer. Are the fitting flares on the Jag MK2 SAE or DIN? Thank you!

MK2 3.8 MOD LHD Exhaust Installation
I am getting ready to install my new stainless steel exhaust system sourced from SNG Barrett on my 64 MK2. Any tips or suggestions on the install process, sequence of components and etc?
Thanks very much!

Re: MK2 Mystery Mounting Bracket at the Air Distributor Box under dash
Just wanted to get back to the group. As Martec indicated and Brian Thornton corraborated with photos, it does look like the mystery bracket is in fact for locating and securing the "trim panels on the sides of the air distributor box under the dash." Interestingly enough it does not appear that the...

Re: MK2 Mystery Mounting Bracket at the Air Distributor Box under dash
Exactly. The bracket is too far back (toward the bulkhead) to be a mounting point for the upholstered console side panels. Ah, the search to unravel the mystery continues. Why would Jaguar mount this bracket? There must be a reason.

Re: MK2 Mystery Mounting Bracket at the Air Distributor Box under dash
Hello Paul,
I don't have another good photo, but it is located dead center behind and slightly above the radio speaker grille. It is mounted along with the air distributor box on the interior side of the firewall bulkhead. Hope that helps.

MK2 Mystery Mounting Bracket at the Air Distributor Box under dash
Hello, I am a new member from the States. This is my first post and I have a question. I have a bracket that is mounted with the air distributor box under the dash. I cannot find a reference to it in the Parts manual and as I recall when I disassembled my car nothing was attached to it. I thought it...
