Rear door lock intermittent operation.
2004 XJR 350. Hav a problem with the rear offside passenger door not opening. It was just the one door I tried various things, operating both handles together all the other worthy suggestions all without success. I tried but could not get the door lock to release, using the key fob would operate the...

Re: ECU where is it on an XJ 358
Thanks very much for the prompt reply. I'll pass on to my friend and tell him to have a closer look. I've never really had to go there on my 350 but I had to move the pollen filter box for some reason some time back and I remember I could clearly see the ECU. Is it the same on the 358 or do you have...

ECU where is it on an XJ 358
Can anyone advise as to the position of the ECU on an 2007 XJ 358.
I have XJ 350 and no the ECU is under the pollen filter box.
A friend who owns the XJ 358 says he has looked but it isn't there?
So confirmation as to its position would be much appreciated.
Regards Bill.

window glass to hood fitting
E Type Ser 1 1967 convertible. I am having problems in getting the window glass to fit in the hood rubber seals when closed. I cannot seem to find a happy compromise; I'm able to get the glass to fit nicely in one place only to find it doesn't fit properly in another. Does the glass rise into the ru...

Re: Auxiliary heating pump Information/discussion article xj350
Continuing investigation into no heat on driver's side. Be for installing the repaired auxiliary heater pump I carried out some more flow tests. This time only using 13.5 ID tubing as it is the same size as the pump outlet. Results are below. Retest of flow using 15mm copper pip (13.5mm I/D) Method ...

Re: Removing the vent cowl to screen panel and Top wishbone
Thank you IRS. Just the information/experience I was looking for :D I had assumed it was attached to the windscreen by fixing something like the closure you get on polythene bags. Without knowing I was hesitant to give it a good hard yank for fear of causing damage. As always the manual assumes you ...

Removing the vent cowl to screen panel and Top wishbone
About to start overhauling the front suspension of my XJR 350 2004. At this point I do not intend to remove the top wishbones as they are in good order. But I assume it will be necessary to gain access to the inner fixings i.e. the nuts on the bolts of the inner bushes of the top wishbone when it co...

Re: The dilemma
Thank you David I will take you up on your kind offer. Richard. Yes I should have seen that coming an E Type is a very desirable car and I have often over the years as its value has risen and fallen thought of parting with it, but then I go out the Garage look at it, stork it then fire it up, return...

The dilemma
Considering getting an XJS and am sure this question is asked of the forum often, trust mine is a little different. At the moment I run a XJR 350 use mainly for runs out and trips,it is a truly wonderful car. We have a smaller car for everyday use. I also own a E Type which I've had for many years. ...

Re: Differential oil change.
Thanks for the advice.
Another look at the differential and yes you're right Mike the rear cover is used to support the differential. So it would be a lot of work to remove.
So I will go the pump out route.
Regards.

Re: Differential oil change.
Thanks for your replies.
Sounds like changing the oil is a must given the state of the oil in your vehicles.
I am tempted to remove the differential cover so I can give it a good clean out.
Is there a reason not to do this.
Regards.
