Re: Jaguar Forum Event at RAF Museum, Cosford
It was quite funny rolling out of the service station in convoy. I was near the rear and there was some very bemused looks on other people in the car park

Re: Jaguar Forum Event at RAF Museum, Cosford
Hi Bandit, just got back from the meet.
You could have just turned up, if you went then you would have had a good day. If you didn't go then sorry you missed it.
There will be other meeting throughout the year, I will post up details as and when they are due

Re: Jaguar Forum Event at RAF Museum, Cosford
Just did some totting up, Over 60 X-Types are going with a few more to confirm. Apparently some S-Type are masquerading as X-Types as well, but I think we can forgive them for that

Face lift X-Type were around 08, the main differences were bumpers, door mirrors and front grill.

Re: Dipped beam performance...lack of!!?
X-Types can suffer from hazy lenses which can dramatically reduce output as Mike says. But standard halogen ones are poor anyway, in my experience uprated bulbs in the X add very little to the light output.
The best way is to use a 55W 4300K HID kit. No reports of problems with MOT either.

Re: snow chains and snow tyres
Good move Alimac, you wont regret it. My winter set are about to go on for the 3rd winter now, if it ever stops raining! Apart from the initial cost, its a win win situation, you have the right tyre for the conditions. Nice summer wheels tucked up in the shed not getting curbed and eaten with road s...

Re: Clutch or Clutch pressure Plate gone
Be aware that pretty much all modern diesels use the dual mass flywheel now, just Google any manufacturer and DMF and see what you get. They are under the heading of good idea (in terms of refining the drive train) but not up to the job. So don't knock the X-Type for using a DMF, all the manufacture...

Hi, was any of you guys at Waxstock on Sunday? I spotted 3 very clean XKRs in the arrive and shine area. I was wondering how they got on in the competition.

Re: New Rear Bushes on FWD car
Rear ARB bushes are easy to do, 4 bolts (best to renew them too) and 2 bushes. Check out Ebay for the bits you need. I replaced mine last year with poly bushes (cost a little bit more) and that cured the bompityclonk from the rear. Not done any other bushes to date but I don't think any are too diff...

Re: Space Saver Spare Wheel
Not a fan of the space saver, some people buy themselves a full sized spare, plenty on Ebay cheap enough. As you have found, they do fit in the boot.
Would rather have a space saver than a can of tyre weld though

Re: Poor dipped headlights (Halogens)
I fitted a 4300k HID kit in the dip beam, excellent lights now. Cue lots of blah blah about legality
Also put night breakers in the mains, its about as good as the lights can be.
