I think if the cam sensor was duff, it would always take a lot of cranking? Once it has started, it will re-start immediately.

The crank sensor is new and fitted to "Andy's bracket" too.

I am pretty convinced there is no problem with fuel pressure. One thing I have found, which also backs this up is that if I don't use the car for a week or so it starts straight away. The next day it's back to cranking too long.

I have now done this on 3 or 4 occasions so I don't think it's a fluke.

Hi all The bulbs illuminating the heater temperature readout have both expired which is annoying now that it's constantly dark. The oil that came out was nice and pink and there was very little residue in the pan or on the magnets, so I am happy leaving 72% old oil in at least until the weather improves.

I have a 1996 X300 3.2 and tried to change the gearbox oil last weekend.

Following the manual, I could only get about 2-3 litres out of the pan. How do you get the rest out of the torque converter?

I thought I would let you know that I traced the cause of the misfire to a big leak on the inlet manifold caused by me leaving a big chunk of the old gasket there - Ooops.

She now purrs like she should.
