Re: Recycling and JEC
I told you so (3) Following has just flooded into my inbox quote: "Dear <redacted>, From Monday 2 March, TfL roads in central London will be changing their speed limit to 20mph. This is to improve safety for all road users, as if someone is hit at 30mph, they're five times more likely to die than if...

Re: Recycling and JEC
Despite opposition (surprisingly from inside the JEC!) I've been lobbying for proper recognition of lower polluting fuels over the past year. All to deaf ears as far as LPG and Hydrogen fuel cell is concerned. And for noting that latest research shows diesel particulates are top of the carcnogenic p...

Sold, was asking a very reasonable £3,950. Good value (as Mr Pritchard would say)

Re: Recycling and JEC
I am in two minds about the suggestion of loyalty benefits. I am no exception in thinking that recognising long term membership in some way would be nice. On the other hand if I was a new member I’d like to see a club that treated all its members the same. We need to be mindful that creating sub gr...

Re: Silly chain tensioner question
Many thanks Mike. I will get it checked Having been done in '08 means the steel tensioners would've been fitted Even Lancaster  would know not to replace the old with new old  Mind you, I did have one X308 that'd had the whole cat convertor with O2 sensor changed for a sensor fault. ...

Re: Has anyone ever owned a Jaguar XJR (X308)?
From time to time I post details of interesting x308 seen in my travails... There's a Daimler Super V8 in the "Buy & Sell" forum of this board that I saw on 7th It's from a trader but priced at £12k :( The advert's still current. I've had three X308 none of which needed welding on my purchase. The 3...

I am continuing to lobby the <redacted> for acceptance of my two LPG-converted cars. I'm not getting any response. There is one member who's email address is <redacted> who is interested in collating all those that have done the LPG conversion, but despite getting their cars registered as either "GA...

Re: No heat
Only a month late, but FWIW I used to carry around this chart since my fuse box cover didn't have this chart on it.
Course since having that print in my glovebox, never had a fuse blow again, in three XJ8s later

Re: Transmission Fluid -How many litres 5.0 litre XK
Old fluid is always retained and does not drain out from the torque convertor. So although the complete capacity (from dry) is always quoted, all of that doesn't drain during an ATF and filter change The amount of ATF you've changed, plus change of filter, plus cleaning of the pan (does this ZF gear...

Re: 1998 Daimler Super V8
Seems the tin worm has appeared severely only over the past year and previous 112 miles. Shame. If that provenance can be proven could be worth taking a welding torch to? Super, smashin', great -- When he woke up after his first cardiac in a hospice and was told where he was, Jim replied: "Oh. You'v...
