Re: Mk2 fails to proceed
Oh dear, Ive put my foot in it now! It's just my perception based on fairly limited understanding admittedly. Lower maintence, no mechanical parts to wear out, no condenser to fail, no contacts to rely on for spark effectiveness, allegedly better mpg. My experience with the systems in four cylinder ...

The man with the golden jag
Thought I'd say hello. I'm a new member with a tasteful gold x type estate and an even more snazzy brown Daimler 250 v8. The Jag was a recent purchase as the family runaround and is already forging a bittersweet relationship with its owners. While its a fantastic drivers car with plenty of poke, the...

Re: Does your dash clock work?
Hi Alec, that does sound interesting. I'd be keen to find out more if anyone's got further information?
It's obviously not a major issue, just one of those niggling little things that bugs me when I take the car out for a spin! Phil

Re: Mk2 fails to proceed
Hi Phil, I've had a similar experience recently with a powerspark ignition unit. It worked fine for a few months but then started giving issues. I Wasted far too much time messing about trying to trace the problem and even got the unit replaced with no success. Eventually I replaced the points and o...

Does your dash clock work?
One of my favourite games when at auctions and shows us playing spot the mk2/etype with a working dash clock! Just a quick straw poll.. how many of you actually have working clocks, and those who do, what's the secret?! Does anyone know of a firm offering quartz movement upgrades or is there a simpl...

Re: Daimler v8 front springs
Thanks Brian. It sits low on the front, one side more than the other and the arch meets the tyre with enthusiastic cornering. Both springs and dampers look to be original, hence the replacement. I'll decide on any anti roll bar upgrades once this is sorted but I'll probably keep it original spec. I'...

Re: Daimler v8 front springs
Thanks for replies gents. Both springs and dampers appear to be originals and don't perform as they should anymore. I've been advised it would sensible to replace to regain some much needed stiffness, especially on fast corners! It seems sc parts stock 2 grades of spring, some I'm waiting for them t...

Daimler v8 front springs
Hello, I'm a new member, forum user and relatively recent convert to the world of Jaguar. I've a query hopefully someone can clear up for me. My Daimler V8 is in need of some new front springs and dampers. I've read that the mk and Daimler use different rated coils to account for the difference in e...
