Re: Hello, I am changing forums.
Just introducing myself as a new member to this forum. I have been a member of the Mk2 forum for a few years and that was a great source of help and support during my compete rebuild of my Mk2. I finished my full nut and bolt restoration between lockdowns last year but, having only completed 800 mi...

Re: Looking for an XJ40 Daimler (if thats the correct phrase)
Ian, Short notice, but there's a really tidy Daimler 3.6 being auctioned by H&H today! Paul Doesnt tick his criteria, especially since it is very one of the few XJ40 Daimler's to be fitted with a Tweed interior, and it would be a crime to swap it since there are so few left. Also, it doesnt have a ...

Re: Looking for an XJ40 Daimler (if thats the correct phrase)
Coming up for auction , looks very nice and LWB. https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1287149 Not a LWB. Very important point. Ads like this drive me demented, as someone comes along and buys it thinking its something its not, find out from someone like me what it is, kicks off and feels cheated by...

Re: 28,000 mile 2006 X-Type SE Nav
Well done Paul - sounds like you struck gold! I bought one of the very last X Types new in March 2009. It was a Sovereign estate with all the toys in indigo with barley interior and in essence a mini XJ. It was a good looking car and served me well for 3 years and over 100k miles. Don't believe all...

Ian, Any good? Re: XJ40 Register
I dont really update this site, which I should as there are a number of people from the JEC on the Register. Car 100,000 has been reached a couple of weeks ago, and can be seen below. It gives an idea of how XJ40/XJ81 is sitting 3 decades on. Work is still ongoing, not even half way yet. The project...

Re: Looking for an XJ40 Daimler (if thats the correct phrase)
Hi Ian, no problem. Good luck with your search but I suspect that the Sovereign and Daimler models are one and the same in the XJ40 sense. Regards Jim That is a fair point Jim. Nothing too drastic separates the Sovereign and Daimler. Rear individual seats, rear picnic tables, fluted chrome, chrome ...

Re: Looking for an XJ40 Daimler (if thats the correct phrase)
Hi Ian, Probably best to keep an eye on eBay, Car & Classic, Auto Trader. You have narrowed your options hugely with some of your must haves. Luckily most 40's are a variant of Red or Blue, and all Daimler come with Leather, Air Con and Cruise, but no rust will never be a guarantee unless you happen...

Hi Peter, if you send me the last 6 digits of your VIN, I will see if my Jaguar Access brings it up.Hi Paul.
Thanks for the reply. It was just a whim, the registration date will do fine.

Re: Chassis and Engine Numbers
Hello All A quick question, is there any way to discern from the chassis and/or engine number of my X300, when it left the factory? Just out of interest really! It was 25 years old today, but that's by the date of registration. 20200512_164735.jpg Not for a precise date. Only the build record will ...

A post I have just put on to my Register Page - www.facebook.com/xj40register CALLING ALL XJ40/81 OWNERS – ESPECIALLY THE EUROPEANS!!!! I need your thoughts on something! It has been discussed by a small number of us over here in the UK about doing a Euro trip. A lot of Register supporters are based...
