Is it the fuel?
It's probably a bit obvious and I'm not really a mechanic, but have you used new fuel? Recently I had a similar problem with my Daimler. It turned out that the fuel had 'gone off' and I used some I'd had in a can for a while. This was also useless. New fuel worked however. It may be some use as I pr...

Thanks Steve, hope you managed your fuel tank in the cold weather. I've only got a car port which means that all work is suspended on account of the fact that it's freezing. I think that a couple of bushes will be all that I need for an MOT, the other things are not MOT'able...is there such a word? ...

2 X Jaguar XJ6 saloons possibly for sale in Manchester
While out and about yesterday, I came across two Series 1 XJ6s in Manchester. They are in the yard of a general garage and the owner has indicated that they would be for sale. The first is a Lavender colour on a L reg. It,s all there but has been standing outside for some time. The second is silver ...

Wheel trims for Daimler XJ6
I forgot to ask on my previous missive, can the chrome type wheel trims from the Series 1&2 cars fit on the Series 3? I've got the standard stainless items on my steel wheels but I really like the look of the older ones. If the answer is yes, my next question is obvious... anyone got some Daimler on...

Hello Bob, Victoria eh? Would that be the lovely town on Vancouver Island? I spent a month up at Lake Cowichan a few years ago and the island is one of the loveliest places I've ever been. the West Coast Trail was fabulous. It was also one of the most friendly places I've ever been. I was single the...

Getting my Daimler back on form
Advice please from all of you out there. My Daimler Series 3 4.2, is running fine, however MOT time looms and a few niggles need sorting. The poor car has been a bit neglected of late due to the purchase of a 1949 Riley RMB. ( I do like big British saloons) (1) Where is the best place to buy tyres, ...

Lovely car Arden, however are you not tempted to change the colour? I think I would be. Not everything about the 70's was good. On your 3rd picture it looks like someone is 'tyre kicking' Seriously though, good luck as it always seems to take twice as long to finish these things than was first thoug...

I may be a bit thick.... in fact forget the may, but I can't work out how to access the galleries. I'd particularly like to view the series 1,11 & 111 gallery if it exists. As a pal of mine in 'IT' tells me, I'm a PICNIC - Problem In the Chair, Not In the Computer! Still he's a boring so & so who dr...

Re Gremlins.
To almcl & simon 4253, thank you both very much for your assistance. I shall be acting on the advice over the next few days. almcl, my car is a Daimler series 111 Sovereign. ( V reg, registered 010180.) It's quite an early one with the dash similar to the series 11. Clearly you are Daimler enthusias...

Fuel and electrical gremlins.
Thank you to those who replied to my initial questions. If possible can anyone help with the following niggles. (1) Although the engine runs well, I seem to have a fuel starvation problem when I use the R/H tank. Instead of pumping fuel to the engine, it pumps it back out through the R/H filler cap ...

Daimler Series 3 XJ6
Hello, I'm new to the club and to the forum & this is my first message. Until now I have been a Riley enthusiast and I still run Riley RMs. I have just bought a 1980 Daimler Sovereign Series 3 4.2. It was registered on 01/01/1980 and would appear to have the same dash as the Series 2. Am I right in ...
