Fuel Filler Bowl Drainage Problems
Hello My 2002 XJ8 has an issue that the fuel filler bowl will not drain. I've removed the top filter and used a piece of smaller diameter semi rigid plastic tube to push down the drain hose. It meets a blockage about 25 inches down and nothing will shift it. Blowing down it just makes the water spra...

Coolant Issue with Knock Sensor
Hello Yesterday I started up my 2002 XJ8 and 10 minutes later it’s gushing coolant from the top hose which parted company from thermostat housing. Lost 4 litres. Immediately stopped engine and I have the usual check light with restricted performance. I also got P1000 ECC and P0327 knock sensor bank ...

Re: Code P1111, Car Will Not Start
Hi
Thanks for your reply.
I do remember an earlier XJ8 flooding after I shut the engine off too soon.
If memory serves me correct I pulled the spark plugs and fuel pump fuse and cranked it over till it cleared the cylinders.
It’s still too damn cold to work on it🥶

Andy
Thank you for your advice, still too cold to tackle it.🥶 Changing the fuel pump looks a pain, let’s hope it’s something easy.

Re: Code P1111, Car Will Not Start
Hi Andy Thank you for your reply. Yes not the best of weather for working under a bonnet. I’ll give the MAF a clean in the next couple of days. If no joy when it’s a bit warmer I’ll check fuel pump. Would the pump failure not generate a fault code? The buzzing from the throttle body appears to be al...

Code P1111, Car Will Not Start
Hello Members Re: 2002 XJ8 Car has been running fine, this morning I went to start it and it flatly refused to start. Engine cranks over fine. MIL light displayed and I was able to retrieve the code P1111. No other codes stored. I have read that this is a 'System Check Ok' code with no fault but cou...

Re: Heater Failure
Many thanks Paul.Tattyhead,
From memory, the sounder on an x308 is to the left side of the engine radiator.
Good luck

Re: Heater Failure
Thank you for your reply. I need to remove inner wheel arch liner for access. Hopefully that sorts it.In the XK8 it is in drivers wheel arch, easily visible when you remove the liner, not sure if XJ is the same though. Once found just unplug it, it’s not part of the main alarm anyway.

Heater Failure
Hello Re: 2002 XJ8 Without warning my heater failed. No voltage to auxiliary heater pump. I vaguely remember that a faulty security sounder could be a likely fault. I checked engine bay fuses and fuse No. 3, a 10 Amp had blown, this does protect a security sounder. I replaced fuse and as soon as I s...

Door Waist Seal Trims
Hello I have come up against a problem with obtaining the door waist trim seals finished in chrome. Part number is GNA17711AE and is for the LH front door. This part is no longer available from Jaguar Classic or SNG Barrett. Drawn a blank with breakers so far. I had thought the top of the door was r...

Coachline Painter Wanted
Hello
My 2002 X308 LWB in Zircon Blue has a taped black coachline which has become ragged. I would like to get a painted coachline done instead of the tape. Can anyone recommend a coachline painter please? I live in the North Surrey area but I'm willing to travel for a first class job.

Re: Restricted Performance
Thanks I will pick up the scanner you recommend for future use. Once I replaced the No.3 coil on plug unit everything returned to normal. Strange that the dash lit up like a Xmas tree for just one problem.
Thank you.
