Travel in the EU
Hi Fellow e type owners I hope to be taking the series 1 e type to Spain this year and driving through France to get there. Can somebody tell me what I have to do with the lights to block out the right hand dipping lights please. I have some stickers that I used on the sealed beam unit on a modern c...

Re: Laycock Compact A Type Overdrive
Hi Paul
Thank you very much for your quick reply.
I have not got access to the manual and if I cannot get the pages copied I shall take it to an overdrive transmission firm who will have the tools.
Many thanks
Peter

Laycock Compact A Type Overdrive
Hi All I am in the process of dismantling an A type compact overdrive which I hope to fit to my 2 + 2. The last piece to be removed is the oil pump. I have removed the plug and locating screw but I cannot get the bottom of the non return valve to move. This nrv I assume comes out first before the pu...

Re: XJ6 Overdrive
Hi Steve Thank you very much for your response. You are right there are some excellent write ups and videos but the models they show are either older or smaller ( HP) models than mine. The Standard Triumph manual is a very good read and helps understand how the overdrive works. Again thank you Peter

XJ6 Overdrive
Hi All I am currently trying to dismantle an overdrive from an XJ6 but I am having a few problems with the oil pump. I have removed the plug and retaining screw but I do not know how to remove the round part with the two flat sides to begin withdrawing the pump valve. Any past dismantlers would you ...

Plastic sheet inside the Doors.
I have just had the interior replaced in my 2+2 but the waterproof membrane has not been fitted in the doors. I know from asking that this sheet of plastic should fit inside the doors and not next to the door card. But I do not know where to fix it or the shape of it. I have been told that 2 pieces ...

Re: Series 1 Wiper Motor Wiring and Testing
Thanks Art for your reply I shall keep the information on file. Yes I did sort the problem out, a friend helped me with the wiring and the wiper motor worked. I did still have one problem in that the wipers were still parking for a left hand drive car and after trying all the suggestions on the foru...

Series 1 Wiper Motor Wiring and Testing
Does anybody have the circuit for the operation of the wiper motor and switch in the 3 modes of operation? I cannot get mine running and wonder if the switch and/or motor can be tested separately. Many thanks in anticipation but thanks for just reading it. Peter Callender 1967 Series 1 2 +2 Derbyshire

Re: Bleeding an empty system
Thank you to all contributors. I engaged the help of a friend who had experience of doing the job and we bled the system in a couple of hours. I am really glad I had your knowledge to give me confidence to do a good job as I had heard of many possible problems.
Many thanks Peter

Hi Alec
That is a method worth trying when you back it up with previous success.
Again thank you for your posting.

Re: Bleeding an empty system
Thank you Simon.
I was hoping that somebody would reply that has done the job before. Did you have any problem with the master and servo cylinders as I have read that they could need bleeding separately.
If so please tell how you did that.
Many thanks for replying.

Fuel Pipe Clips
Hi This is my first post so I hope that I have entered the question in the correct manner and place. I am having difficulty in obtaining the small spring clips that retain the fuel pipe to the under side of the car for a series 1 1967 2 + 2. I think that their original part number was C26676. These ...
