Fault Code 1647
Got this code coming up as an O2 sensor bank and the orange engine light on the dash. SNG Barratt list about 5 different O2 sensors. anyone know which one I need? My guess is that it's the sensor after the cat. Bank 2 is all the mechanic can tell me...

Re: 3 doors 'full' of rain water.....
my rear offside door does the same quite often. got the garage to unblock it during the last service, but now i know how easy it sounds, i'll do it myself next time!

Re: Headlining
Had my headlining redone by a firm in Sussex - SM trimming. good job too. only thing is, the radio is a bit crackly now. is it easy enough to check at home whether the radio aerial wire is dislodged behind one of the rear screen pillars? (C pillar). is it nearside or offside I wonder?

Re: hesitation when cold
Latest update - did all the things listed above, had the car Terracleaned - fantastic improvement in power and response, I'd recommend it to anyone, but the hesitation was still there. I then read about low gearbox oil levels and the symptoms sounded exactly the same as mine. Got the box topped up (...

Re: hesitation when cold
OK - new plugs installed, no difference. Took the car over to Jagtechnic who said it was misfiring on all 8 cylinders. They cleared the fault codes, did a software patch update. It's a little better, but still has a slight hesitation at around 1600 RPM on a light load which is worse once the engine ...

Re: hesitation when cold
Latest developments - I've narrowed the problem down to a slight misfire - when I rev the engine up to 4000 RPM or thereabouts, it sounds like a boy racer revving at the lights! the engine rises and falls in RPM at an alarming rate - fuel delivery problem perhaps?

Re: hesitation when cold
I'll give your suggestions a try. The MAF sensor wasn't at all dirty, the bulb section at the end, although brown, was semi transparent and the metalwork was nice and bright - the service history with the car indicates its been Jag serviced all its life so I live in hope! Thanks for the tips!

hesitation when cold
My 3.5 XJ is very slightly hesitant/jerky when cold, fine once warmed up. I've had it serviced, all filters changed, plugs checked (they were ok) gearbox oil changed (it's just gone over 100,000 miles) cleaned the air sensor thingy as recommended in the latest magazine. I've also put some injector c...

Re: Sticky door mirrors
Thanks for the help chaps, took the puddle lamp off, absolutely full of detritus (can't say cr.p!) cleaned it out, spray oil all round and hey presto - both sides work properly! Yay!

Sticky door mirrors
When locking the car, the drivers door mirror won't fold in properly. I can hear the motor whirring away, but unless I give it a helping hand, not much happens. Unlock is the same. Is there any way to grease it up/lubricate the mechanism
at all? (Passenger side works better however)

Re: Heated front screen
Many thanks - I'll check it out. There doesn't seem to be any other non - working items, so it's either the screen or the relay at fault then I guess.

Heated front screen
Anyone know where the fuse is located for the front heated screen? Mine isn't working, thought the fuse would be the first thing to check, the handbook says there's 3 fuse boxes!

the heated screen on my X350 doesn't appear to work. Anyone know which fuse I need to check in the first instance?
