x350 Purchasing
Good day all,
My son is considering the purchase of a 2006 XJ 3.0 Petrol V6 model. Are there any aspects of this car that should be focused on in a pre sale inspection? Not being an Owner of this model it would be appreciated if any owners could assist, thanks in advance.

All We recently refuelled our X Type at a well known supermarket with 58Ls of Diesel. (Travelling next day to a family occasion in N Yorks). After approx 35 miles, a slight juddering was felt, with a noted difference in water temp on the gauge. Thereafter things seemed to settle and drove for anothe...

Re: Rooflining
Have a similar problem on my 99 XKR, I have searched many areas, but feel going down the renewal route with one of the advertised GRP backed linings is the way to go. Try searching for these, I believe they cost approx £190?

Re: Timing tensioner costs
Hi
Had mine done in Stockton - full tensioner & chain change, approx £1100 all in, having seen the cracked items & worn chains after replacement I felt it was well worth the money, knowing the engine will survive! XKR is a wonderful vehicle.

Hi
My son bought an X type from main stealer and lumpy run at start up ended up with requirement of 4 new injectors new ECU and repropgramming. Fortunately all covered under warranty with some reticence on their part. Since this runs like a new car with 78000 miles on clock

Re: Drivers door adjustment advice
Thanks for the responses to the original query, I have checked the door by grasping the outer edge and rocked. No apparent play in the hinges being evident, in fact the whole car is moved immediately. There ahs not been any work done to the striker plate either but will start looking htere as the up...

Drivers door adjustment advice
Hi all,
Does anyone have any advice on adjusting the drivers door of a 99 XKR? Mine appears to have dropped slightly and on closing is catching on the door locking mechanism.
Regards
Steve H

Paul,
Thanks for the advice, I take it removal of the skirt cover is as simple as in the article just taking out the plastic clips holding the cover in place?
Regards

All
Final update on this issue after many negative responses from wheel suppliers is that 1/2" UNF wheel nuts are the correct type. At least they fit and all seems well after what seems an eternity!

Re: Rust on panel behind subframe
Just had my car MOT'd and as per this original post the same advisory was given regarding corrosion behind the subframe ass'y. Apparently this will require removal of the subframe etc to repair the corrosion. My question to the Forum is, does anyone else have experience of this problem, if so whilst...
