Thanks for that, although I'm pretty sure the actual lock and catch are set correctly. The door has dropped a little, but when it makes contact with the lock, it lifts it to the correct position.

Unfortunately, by then the seal has already made contact with the top of the b pillar!

Does anyone know how to adjust a door on an XJ8? My driver's door has dropped a little, and the seal catches on the top of the B pillar as a result. Hi Dave, I think the idea that the lower tensioners will definitely make a noise when they are worn is incorrect: mine were heavily worn, cracked, and there was no noise at all.
