Aircon condenser
I have been told I have a leak on my condenser which needs replacing, 2004 4.2 XJ8. The aircon guy says get one off eBay and fit it then he will commission and service the system. Anyone replaced one of these? Is it a diy job?
Any advice welcome.

Re: Squeaking drivers seat
Hi Rod
I have tried it on my wife's setting and it still squeaks with me in it so it may be a weight related issue??
Cheers

Squeaking drivers seat
Hi I have a 2004 XJ8 sport with a squeaking seat. It seems to be the back of the seat that creaks and squeaks as I drive along. It does not seem to happen when my wife drives but she is much lighter. There is also a small amount of disintegrating foam on the carpet OSR rear of the seat. Is it easy t...

Re: Leaking door seal?
Thanks Mike
I will try to dry it out and glue it first if not as you suggest I could raid the Bank of England and look to buy a genuine replacement.
Thanks for the advice
Cheers

Re: Leaking door seal?
Hi Mike I have had a look and the drain hole seems to be gaping a bit on the drivers side. Also it seems at the bottom of the rubber it is not attached which is where you can see the water stain. Can this be glued back up do you think?? When I poured water into the drain hole most of it went outside...

Leaking door seal?
I just lifted the rubber mat in the drivers side which I use in winter to find the carpet below sodden with visible water. Not sure where it is from but suspect the rubber door seal. The black trim inside is wet and there seems evidence of water getting in right at the front above the fuse box. Has ...

Re: Central locking
Thanks the battery seems ok. I will try the circular connector first and see what that does. The door open warning only comes on with the door open

Central locking
I have a problem that occasionally the central locking goes haywire, perhaps after washing the car, 2000 XK8 coupe. Recently it stopped working completely and the windows did not adjust on opening/closing the doors. Occasionally when unlocked with the fob it unlocks and locks numerous times. It was ...

Re: Heater not working
Thanks for all the info Mike. This will give me something to tackle. I have checked and there does not seem to be in any water flow after running for a couple of minutes, although I did notice it needs topping up as it is below the bottom of the neck by about 1cm. I have checked all the fuses relate...

Re: Heater not working
Thanks Doug
I will check the fuses tomorrow. Just been thinking looking back to older cars I have owned the failure to heat up quickly and heat the car was traced to a stuck open thermostat. Am I being too simplistic for an XK? My car is a 2000 4.0L.
Cheers

Heater not working
I have had my XK for a bit over 2 weeks. In the early trips out it soon warmed the car demisting etc. In fact I was impressed by the efficiency of the heater. However after being parked in the winter snow for a few days it no longer works. After about 10 miles it becomes mildly warm not defrosting o...
