Generally it is in good condition but I want to put it in to a good idie for a thorough service and refresh.....

Re: Locking wheel nuts disaster
Thanks guys........unfortunately I've already bought a new set of locking wheel nuts/key from Jaguar...plus the replacement old key.....a fool and his money as the saying goes. Upside is at least I should be able to remove the wheels and finally replace the second disc/pads. I will thoroughly will c...

Re: Locking wheel nuts disaster
Thanks Mike, Ordered from the link you supplied, express delivery. Just need to remove the old as I have the new...and replace the remaining warped disc. Good news, I put her through the MOT today (misread the date so I'm 6 weeks early) and passed with flying colours - no advisories :-) regards Jon

Locking wheel nuts disaster
A real frustrating day. The plan was to replace the front pads and discs (themselves a warranty replacement for the set replaced in June that had warped). Passenger side - no issues everything replaced neatly in about an hour including a good clean of the caliper. Drivers side was a bit of a Bu55er ...

Re: Back in Blighty
It's out with the credit card time then Mike. The car is a keeper and very much proved it's credentials on the European trip. Kim and I agree it is probably the best car we have ever owned (and we've had over 50 with a fair number of new cars and premium brands) so I am not concerned about spending ...

Re: Back in Blighty
...ha ha Mike....are you sure your face is black or just polished up with a chrome finish  I'll work my way through the part numbers and publish with photo's as soon as I have a chance to get my hands on her...however the Porsche is being petulant so I have to focus on that first as I cannot ha...

Re: Back in Blighty
Fantastic work Mike...I am really impressed by your diligence and bravery, sawing chunks off a perfectly serviceable engine. I have ignored my issues as they appear to have gone away with the more sensible altitude in Crawley...35mtrs above sea level seems to suit the old girl somewhat better than 1...

Re: Back in Blighty
Stop right now Mike  that one post has turned my quick couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon to a full Formula 1 pit stop  If you can publish the photo's of the throttle body, that would be useful. I'm also planning on changing the knock sensors (as I will have unrestricted access) whil...

Back in Blighty
Now here's a surprise. Arrived back in England last night after covering c. 2500 miles over the past week; some cruising in excess of 240 kmh on the autobahn, lots of climbing and descending mountain passes and the majority at elevations higher than our base hotel (which itself was 1100m above sea l...

Re: Another slight issue today - very long
Thanks again Mike, No sunroof, but I cleared the bulkhead drains in front of the firewall before we left, so maybe it's the drain from there?? I pressure washed the car yesterday as we were attending a wedding today, so there would be a larger amount of water in that area to disperse, plus we had ve...

Re: Another slight issue today - very long
Thanks Mike, I have a supply of appropriate silicone tubing at home. Is there a diagram anywhere showing all of the vacuum pipes for the 4.2sc unit? I may as well replace all of them if there are more than one. I would say i definitely have the symptoms of a dodgy coil pack so again, belts and brace...
