QQ: which type of oil should I use to top-up the back axle on my 2003 X350? It's a 3.5 V8. I have an advisory from the last MOT in January stating 'oil leak but not excessive'.

It's worth mentioning there's no excess to pay with the Club / DAS breakdown assistance scheme either, unlike my previous breakdown membership which charged £25. T&Cs stipulate that to be recovered, the vehicle must not exceed 3500Kg GVW, nor 20 feet in length.

Thanks Paul - I'll check out the LH ride sensor first to see if it's become dislocated. Measuring vertically from the front wheel centres to the highest point on the wheel arches is 330mm both sides, so the car's sitting level, but I believe approx. 5cm too low at the front currently.
