Thanks for the info, you were spot on. Already checked the breather pipe but only from the top where it looked OK, took it off thanks to your info and there was nothing left of the underside! Made up a new one, cleared fault codes and been running for weeks now with no reoccurance.

Thank you Bassman for that info. I've been to EAPJ in Derby today, they didn't sell the manual XK8 on ebay as it didn't reach reserve. They have however sold it today to me! Excellent 6 speed Tremec T56 box (as used in Vantage, Viper, Mustang etc) and mean clutch thats going to take some getting use...

420 pas pump
I think the 420 pump is the same as early XJ6 with the integral header tank. The 420 bracket is integral with the engine mount though. You would need long non standard pipes to mount on the left and it would be high up. I can send some photos if you let me have your email address.

XK8 manual?
Has anybody tried fitting a manual box to an XK8? Would the V6 manual box out of a n S type fit for instance?

I modified the bracket to bring the pump a bit closer to the engine and use a shorter belt. Had to move the brake servo ...

Fault codes P171/4 lean fuel trim
Has anybody experienced these fault codes on a V6; fuel trim lean left and right banks? Immediately comes back if codes cleared, no sign of air leaks at throttle body. Just wondered if anybody has experienced this before I take the manifold off and look further into it. Car runs fine apart from faul...
