Hi Terry
In order to get a meaningful reply you need to supply Model, Variant, Model Year and the last part of the VIN.

Re: TYRES 1996 XK8 4.0l Coupe
Sorry Jim, you are wrong! According to the 2002MY XK Vehicle Care Book (and all previous years sales blurb), the correct 18" tyres for all year round use are 245/45 (F) & 255/45 (R). The Winter tyres only are the same on all four 18" wheels . I had a 2002MY XK8 from 2005 until it was written off in ...

Re: Tapping on start up from cold
Hi Rob
A Good independent Jaguar Workshop who has extensive knowledge of the Jaguar Supercharged V8 engine may recognise the noise your engine makes at startup. If you have such a garage local to you I would try there.
Good luck

Re: Tapping on start up from cold
Hi Rob Yes, in theory, you should have the 4.2 Valve Timing System. But the alarm bells rang when you quoted that you have duplex chains. I've attached a photo of a Morse Chain. I had a MY2002 XK8 from 2005 (NB0112071801) until it was written off in 2019 and I removed a Cam Cover to be sure that my ...

Re: Tapping on start up from cold
Hi Rob You have been misinformed regarding your engine being a 'Hybrid Engine' Engines after 0108122359 (MY2002) have the 4.2 Timing Chain System (Tensioners & Morse Primary Chain, but not the improved Water Pump) fitted at Factory so if you have metal tensioners they have been retro fitted. Most pe...

Re: New locks?
To complete the information for the original post: Key Fob (for X100): you will need to source a replacement with the same Part Number. As far as I'm aware, all commence with LJA2610 but have different suffixes (AA-AC, BA-BC & CA-CC), so at least 9 different Fobs. Probably not all were used for UK c...

Re: window problem
Hi Linda Another common problem with the XK8/R is a micro switch in the door lock. This could be the cause the problem you have. If, having re-set the window program, you are still having the trouble on the same door them the micro switch is most likely to be the issue. Note. When the microswitch fa...

Re: engine management light always on
Hi Tommy, As Jim has indicated, a failing Battery causes many problems. On my '02 XK8, the first signs of Battery Voltage problems was the loss of the Window Position Memory. Others with a '08 XK will advise if a similar minor fault occurs as the Battery fails. A Hard Re-Set is known to cure lots of...

John In order to get something meaningful from your request you need to supply some basic information Is your car an X100/X150 or a completely different model to the Modern XK Range? What is the Model Year - or you need to supply the last 6 characters of the alpha-numeric VIN (most useful) What Code...

Robert Try the USA - Around 4 years ago I bought a good set from a private seller (only needed re-painting). Cost of parts was ok but Delivery & Import Duty more than doubled the cost. The USA was one of the biggest markets for the X100 so try Jag Breakers in the USA as they may do a lot of business...

Hi The information I have provided here and in my post earlier this week states the sources of the information provided. Re: New to the club, with a year 2000 XKR
Hi Spinflight According to the information I have, The R Performance Brakes fitted as an upgrade to the standard XKR (to MY2002) would accept any R Performance Wheel. There was an 18" R Performance wheel & it was called Millan. On MY2002 (the info I have to hand) Milan Wheels had 245/45 ZR 18 96W (F...

Re: XK8 Auxiliary Heater pump - wiring diagram
Terry I have Wiring Diagrams for a number of X100 Model Years Although the Wiring Diagrams for the Climate Control System look the same for MY1999 - MY2001 (your 2000 Registered XK8 could be any of these Model Years) it is possible that there are subtle changes that don't immediately stand out. Plea...

Some time ago someone marketed (specific for Jaguar) something similar to this:
https://www.powerfuluk.com/catalogsearc ... t?q=rrw100
You will need to check with this company the thread & outside diameter & compare with your needs
Good luck
