Window trim finisher removal and refit
Good Morning, Apologies if this is of no/limited interest: I needed to fix my offside rear window finisher as most of the clips securing it had failed and there was an unsightly 3mm gap where the trim should be flush with the door frame. I captured the experience on video. The Jaguar Workshop manual...

1994 XJ40 central locking door solenoid replacement (BEC12272)
Might help if someone needs to replace a failed central locking door solenoid. Mine failed on the offside rear door. New old stock items currently available from JLR Classic Parts for around £87 (+tax, +shipping).

Help - 1994 XJ40 Tonneau side moulding required
https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/bec19051-tonneau-side-moulding.html Hi, Would anyone have an idea where I might find a replacement for what is denoted as #4 BEC19051 in the above schematic ? Mine fell off  after a decent run to Eastnor Castle. Thanks, Rich IMG20230602190319.jpg

Re: Jaguar Alpine Head unit - cant enter security code
So I took the plunge and upgraded. I have tried to capture what I have done here in this video:

Hopefully, someone might find it useful.

Re: Is this replacement cooling fan correct for my car?
I'm late to the party, but EBC4553 (for V12s) can be had from British Parts for £40.84 + vat and shipping). I purchased one for my '89 XJ-S V12 to replace cracking yellowed fan. The replacement was black and made in Italy: fitted fine and was in action at the recent JEC Castle Combe track day. Scree...

Jaguar Alpine Head unit - cant enter security code
Good Morning All, My XJ40 came back from the garage last weekend. The battery was disconnected due to various tasks including welding and painting. Normally, it's a case of inputting the security code and retuning the radio presets. However, this time I can't input the code: I've tried disconnecting...

Re: My XJ-S at Castle Combe earlier this week
Morning,
Yes - it's a Getrag 265 from a donor 1989 3.6 XJ-S that had failed it's MoT back in 2013. Rear diff ratio is 3.07 compared with the 2.88 standard: it better matches the gearbox. Good shout re: TinyURL. I'll grab a few stills from the footage as well.
Best, Richard

I bit the bullet and signed-up for the Tracksport event held last Tuesday at Castle Combe. Great fun (except when the brake pedal hit the floor!) but we are all good: no harm or damage done.
Great to catch-up with folks whom I've not seen for a while.
Cheers, Richard
