My 1989 XJS went in for an MOT and failed due to the brake lights not working? The usual checks (bulbs / fuses etc) were made. The garage (not a Jag specialist) confirmed 12v was going to the switch but not activating the lights? The switch appears to be working so the problem possibly lies elsewher...

My cigar lighter is defunct! This would not normally be a problem as I'm a non-smoker but I need to replace for my SatNav (TomTom). I've bought a 'replacement' cigar lighter from Ebay which is advertised as suitable for my model XJS but it is not a genuine Jaguar replacement unit. Probably won't fit...
