Re: MAF sensor
Did you solve it Jon? Some of the codes which mention A or B MAF sensor are mismatch codes, i.e. it may not be the airflow sensor that is the issue, just that the engine is not seeing the same airflow as the sensor is reading. I'm painfully aware of this one as it has just occurred on my 2009 3.0D a...

Re: Forum Newbie
Hi Stuart, thanks for posting! With regard to the bonnet sensor, I also had a failing sensor. Having tried and failed to fix it by adjusting either the bonnet stops or the sensor I concluded that it was intermittently faulty. If I remember rightly it's fitted underneath the passenger side 'claw' tha...

Re: Tyre choice
Well I have been running Nankang Sportnex AS2+ for a year when recommended by the member from whom I bought new wheels for the XF. Can't fault them (and I'm fussy!). Good dry and wet grip, no sidewall damage in potholes (fingers crossed), lower noise than most and decent wear. Very happy to have com...

Re: XF Sportbrake 2012 2.2D Engine Oil
Hi Greg, Well I have the 3.0D so I do not have direct experience of what Jaguar recommend for the 2.2, but you are right to be cautious. The specification will be specific to the fact that the DPF is there, it sounds like you are already aware of that. You need to look beyond the basic 5W-30 which i...

Re: XF Rear Subframe Mounting Bushes
Hi Jim I don't know if it could be your bushes, I guess it's possible. Yet I think you're doubtful about this yourself as the bushes are reported as only very slightly worn, but your brother-in-laws experience does sound relevant. I did have similar experience in another Jaguar model with very simil...

Re: Radio advice
Well Andy, a year after your request I see no replies. But I have exactly the same issue, no MW stations at all, on my 08 XKR just purchased. If you found a solution please let me know or maybe this new post will alert someone who does!

Re: Top of door / window trims
OK, so here was how I got on, some of this may be useful to others. Rubber around the A pillar and roof line where the window closes against it - I did purchase the V shaped rubber strips available on ebay for £17.95 and they worked perfectly, glued into place once cleaning up the landing area of th...

Re: Number plate light loss of voltage
Thank you gentlemen. Advice was correct. Subsequently the manual boot opener stopped working (still worked from the key fob or from inside the car, just not the button under the boot lip) and then the rear view camera failed. I replaced the piece of the wiring loom that runs through the hinge of the...

Top of door / window trims
A subject that has come up before, but to re-open - does anyone have a solution for the top of door trims (2003 XK8) ? This is the graphite coloured or black strip that appears to be only cosmetic (doesn't form the window seal). Jaguar want £300 for one side and are out of stock for the other side. ...

Re: Number plate light loss of voltage
Thanks David, you may well be right. I have now rewired so both lights are fed from the one remaining live wire that is healthy. Remove the trim from inside the boot lid and it is the easily visible connector with black / white / blue / yellow wires. Anyone else doing this should check that no wire ...

Number plate light loss of voltage
XF 2009. One of the rear number plate lights is out - bulb had blown. Changed the bulb, no joy. Checked voltage - no voltage on the bulb holder and tracing it back to the connector behind the boot trim, no voltage there either. Can anyone help with where it is fed from? The fuse descriptions in the ...
